Fight the Fire is a book that asks what would a green new deal look like that meets the needs of people and the planet? It addresses both the global South and North and is written in a conversational style using non technical language.

Neale is clear that to avoid cataclysmic climate change, fossil fuels need to go altogether – oil, gas and coal – replaced by renewable forms of energy such as wind and solar, he writes, “The key to stopping climate change will be stopping emissions”.

Using logical argument and evidence the book constructs a global analysis, revealing how all parts of the problem are everywhere and solutions interconnected. Focussing on causes rather than symptoms of climate change it identifies the social relations of globalizing capitalism as the major obstacle to sustainability and the need for connected mass movements.
